Incumbent Police Juror Ronnie Jackson, who serves Beauregard Parish's District 4B, is seeking re-election during the elections on October 14th and will be confronted with voter concerns over the economy and education if elected. Supporters and endorsers of Jackson's campaign believe that he is the right candidate to tackle these issues.
According to an August 2023 KTBS 3 survey of Louisiana likely voters, low quality of education was one of the two biggest problems facing the state. This highlights the importance of addressing education concerns in the district.
The same survey also covered economic issues, revealing that 41 percent of respondents believed that improving the business climate by cutting taxes and reducing red tape was the key to growing the economy. Another 33 percent believed that improving the quality of life was crucial, while 20 percent emphasized the need to develop a skilled workforce through technical education.
In recent news, Jackson received an endorsement from RED PAC, a group dedicated to electing conservatives at the local level. The executive director of RED PAC, Kevin Gardner, praised Jackson's commitment to fiscal responsibility and local development. Gardner believes that Jackson's qualities make him a deserving candidate for re-election and continued service.
Jackson has a long history of service to the community. He is a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in the Vietnam War. Jackson's previous roles include serving as a Road Foreman for the parish, a member of Beauregard Fire District #2, and Chief of the Broadlands Fire Station. He is also a member of the Beauregard Parish Farm Bureau Board and has been affiliated with the American Legion Post 27 in DeRidder, Louisiana, for over 30 years.
Beauregard Parish is set to hold elections on October 14th, including the Police Jury Board elections. Jackson, a Republican, will be seeking re-election in District 4B. Police jurors in Beauregard Parish serve four-year terms.
