Allen Parish Education: Fewer students enrolled in Allen Parish School District schools in 2021-22 school year

The only school district in Allen Parish suffered declining enrollment in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Louisiana Department of Education.

There were 4,032 students in the halls of Allen Parish School District schools, 1.4% lower than the year before.

Enrollment in Allen Parish was steady compared to the state’s trend of decreasing enrollment.

Out of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.1% of them were boys, and 48.9% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 72.6% of the Allen Parish School Districts total enrollment.

Allen Parish School District has a main office in Oberlin and is the only school district within Allen Parish.

The majority of Louisiana students were either white (48%) or Black (37%) in the 2021-22 school year.

In 2022, there was roughly one teacher for every 18 students in Louisiana, which is worse than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.
