Lake Charles students Ali Davis, a criminal justice senior, and Clophus “CJ” Semien, a nursing senior, have been named as McNeese State University’s 2022 Homecoming Queen and King.
The royal pair and court will be presented during halftime ceremonies of the McNeese Cowboys vs. Southeastern Lions football game at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in Cowboy Stadium.
Davis, daughter of Amanda and Tarius Davis, is a member of Chi Omega Sorority and Pre-Law and Politics Society and a McNeese Rowdy Rider.
Semien, son of Sharon Semien, is president of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, vice president of National Pan-Hellenic Council, captain of the McNeese football team and a member of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee and Black Male Initiative. Other court members are: Preston Blanchard, Hathaway, Emma Boyd, DeRidder, Bailey Leonards, Iota, and Macie Maddox, Sulphur, seniors; Adepoju “PJ” Adetunji, Nigeria, Anna Broussard, Lake Charles, Kayla Harrison, Shreveport, and Jaylon Martin, Lake Charles, juniors; Mary Caraway, Jennings, and Beau Dobson, Lake Charles, sophomores; and Jake Armand, Lake Charles, and Ellen Duhon, Jennings, freshmen.
Blanchard, son of Monicha and Abey Blanchard, is a double major in finance and accounting. He is president of Kappa Sigma Fraternity and a member of Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. Boyd, daughter of Leah and Larry Boyd, is a biology major with a concentration in pre-medicine. She is president of Phi Mu Sorority and a member of the American Chemical Society and Baptist Campus Ministries. Leonards, son of Laney and Barrett Leonards, is a health and human performance major with a concentration in pre-physical therapy. He is president of the Interfraternity Council, vice president of Kappa Alpha Order and a McNeese Rowdy Rider. Maddox, daughter of Katie and Thomas Maddox, is a biology major with a concentration in pre-medicine. She is president of the Pre-Medical Society, philanthropy chair of Chi Omega and a member of Honors College, Cowboy Catholics, American Chemical Society and Students for Life. Adetunji, son of Kikelomo and Adelana Adetunji, is a double major in finance and accounting. He is president of the African and Caribbean Student Association, a McNeese Rowdy Rider and a member of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, Honors College and Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society. Broussard, daughter of Deirdre and Richard Broussard, is a radiologic sciences major. She is a member of the McNeese Alumni Ambassadors, Cowboy Catholics and Chi Omega and a McNeese Rowdy Rider. Harrison, daughter of Kasandra and Kenneth Harrison, is a health and human performance major with a concentration in sports medicine. She is captain of the McNeese women’s track and field team and member of the Physical-Medicine Society and Student Athletic Advisory Committee. Martin, son of Schlanda Stevens, is an English major with a concentration in writing. He is president and founder of Fanatics at McNeese, a McNeese Rowdy Rider and a member of Theta Chi Fraternity, the Black Male Initiative, So You Like to Write and Spectrums. Caraway, daughter of Kelly and William Caraway, is a health and human performance major with a concentration in pre-occupational therapy. She is a member of the Physical-Medicine Society, Cowboy Catholics and Chi Omega and a McNeese cheerleader. Dobson, son of Alyson and Tony Dobson, is a mass communication major with a concentration in public relations. He is a McNeese Rowdy Rider and a member of Kappa Sigma. Armand, son of Lana Pearson and Troy Armand, is a business administration major. He is a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha, Cowboy Catholics and McNeese Intramural sports. Duhon, daughter of Elisha and Jake Duhon, is a nursing major. She is a member of Chi Omega, Cowboy Catholics and Students for Life.
