The popular Movies with the Mayor Series is set to return for the holiday season on Saturday, December 21, at Rosa Hart Theatre, located at 900 Lakeshore Dr. The event is presented by Children’s Miracle Network and will begin with Cookies, Cocoa and More at 4 p.m. on the Second Floor Mezzanine.
The feature film, "The Muppet Christmas Carol," will be shown at 5 p.m. in the Rosa Hart Theatre. During Cookies, Cocoa and More, attendees can enjoy a Hot Cocoa Bar provided by The Village Coffeehouse and a live musical performance from the AM Barbe High School String Orchestra.
JD Bank will bring Santa and some special helpers who will be available for photos. Additionally, there will be a reading nook from the Calcasieu Parish Public Library, a coloring station from Families for Inclusion, and books provided by JD Bank. A selfie station will also be available thanks to the CHRISTUS Ochsner SWLA Foundation.
Both Movies with the Mayor and Cookies, Cocoa and More are free events open to the public. Concessions can be purchased during the movie screening. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
