The City of Lake Charles will observe the Mardi Gras holiday on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. As a result, there will be no trash or garbage collection on that day.

Trash and garbage normally collected on Tuesday will instead be picked up on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Collections scheduled for Monday, Thursday, and Friday will continue as usual.

All recycling stations, including the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Incinerator, will not operate on Tuesday. They are set to resume their regular hours on Wednesday.

Residents are reminded to place containers and other items for removal before 7 a.m. on collection day or the evening prior. Containers should be removed by 7 p.m. on the day of collection. Responsibility for cleaning any spillage from containers lies with the owner, occupant, or tenant.

City Hall and all services under the Department of Public Works will also close on Tuesday in observance of Mardi Gras and will reopen with normal hours on Wednesday.
