The McNeese State University Cowboy Kickoff Showcase Fundraiser will be held Thursday, Aug. 18, at 6:30 p.m. at Burton Coliseum. The doors will open at 5:45 p.m. Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children under 12 and McNeese students with a valid ID.
The event will include performances by the Pride of McNeese Marching Band, the Cowgirl Kickers and the Iowa, Sulphur and Westlake high school bands. All proceeds from the fundraiser benefit the McNeese Band travel fund.
The Pride of McNeese will play traditional spirit music including the fight songs, “On McNeese,” and the anthem of Cowboy Nation, “Joli Blon.” The Pride of McNeese performance will also offer a sneak peek of the first halftime show, “Binge Watch,” featuring music from some of the band’s favorite TV shows and sitcoms.
“The Cowboy Kickoff is a fun way for fans, alumni and family to help with the travel costs for The Pride of McNeese and recruiting efforts throughout the upcoming year,” said Dr. Tim Pardue, McNeese Director of Bands.
