City of Lake Charles administrative offices and services, including City Hall and Transit Services, will remain closed until 4:30 pm on Thursday, January 23, 2025. This decision was announced by City Administrator John Cardone due to concerns about road safety following recent severe weather.

The warming station at the MLK Community Center is expected to close at noon on Thursday, January 23, weather permitting. Residents needing assistance are advised to call 211 or dial 911 in emergencies.

The Utilities Division thanked residents for conserving water during the weather event and requested continued support through Wednesday night into Thursday. Residents are advised that normal water use should prevent pipes from freezing if their homes are heated. Dripping faucets should be turned off to help the city's system manage increased demand.

Customers experiencing water issues can contact the Water Division at (337) 491-1483.

Due to icy conditions, the Shattuck Street and Enterprise Boulevard overpasses remain closed. LCPD and Public Works crews are monitoring these areas and will reopen them when safe.

Solid Waste Division crews plan to resume trash collection on Friday, January 24, road conditions permitting. Normal Friday routes will be followed with regular weekly collections resuming Monday, January 27. The Nelson Road/Alma Lane Recycling Truck and Solid Waste Incinerator are also set to reopen on Friday if weather allows.
