Thanksgiving Holiday to be Observed, Garbage and Trash Collection Will be Altered

The City of Lake Charles will observe the Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday, November 23, 2023. There WILL NOT be any trash or garbage picked up on this day. Changes in trash and garbage pickup are as follows:

Trash and garbage regularly scheduled for pickup on Thursday will be rescheduled for pickup on Friday, November 24, 2023.

Trash and garbage regularly scheduled for pickup on Friday will be rescheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023.

The Team Green Recycling Truck and all Recycling stations, including the Wood Waste Facility and the Nelson Ball Field (Alma Lane) will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023. They will resume regular hours on Friday, November 24, 2023.

As a reminder, containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.

The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.

All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City departments, including Lake Charles City Hall, will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023, in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular hours will resume on Monday, November 27, 2023.
