On February 8, 2025, the City of Lake Charles Partners in Parks Initiative and Indorama will hold a Bayou Bash Gator Meet-N-Greet. The event is scheduled from 9 to 11 am at the Lakefront Alligator Pond, situated just east of Visit Lake Charles at 1205 N. Lakeshore Dr.

This free event is organized in collaboration with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists, and Visit Lake Charles. Attendees will have the chance to hold baby alligators and learn about their natural habitat. The community is also invited to view the newly refurbished alligator pond and greet the lakefront alligators.

The Gator Meet-N-Greet will proceed regardless of weather conditions. If inclement weather occurs, indoor activities will be held inside Visit Lake Charles.

For further information, individuals can contact 337-491-1280 or email parks@cityoflc.us.
