The City of Lake Charles, in collaboration with United Way Southwest Louisiana, has announced the LC United Resource Fair. This event is designed to offer residents recovering from natural disasters a centralized location to access various resources over six days.
Mayor Nic Hunter acknowledged ongoing recovery challenges despite progress over the past four years. "Although much progress has been made over the course of four years, we acknowledge that there are still families struggling through the recovery process," he stated. He emphasized the importance of simplifying access to resources by teaming up with United Way, hoping it will bring residents closer to complete recovery.
The resource fair will be held at three locations on specified dates: Donald Ray Stevens Community Center on November 5 and 6, Bellard Recreation Center on November 12 and 13, and Henry Heights Recreation Center on November 19 and 20. The events will run from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

"Our goal is to provide a comprehensive support system for our community. By collaborating with local agencies, we believe we can empower residents to access vital resources that will help them rebuild and recover more effectively," she said.
