On October 22, the City of Lake Charles, in collaboration with the Southwest Louisiana Arts & Humanities Council, will host an event titled "Love Your City: Connect and Lead – How We Build Communities." This free event is designed in a TED-talk style and will be held at Central School's Benjamin Mount Theatre located at 809 Kirby Street. The evening will begin with a social gathering from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, followed by the main talk from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

The event will feature speakers Rusty Metoyer, Lauren Bynum, Matt Young, and Jazmin Farraj. They will engage in a discussion on collaborative community-building strategies. Mayor Nic Hunter expressed enthusiasm about the event's return, stating, “Love Your City originally launched in March of 2019, and we are thrilled to bring it back online in 2024 as part of our LC Launch Small Business Week Series of events.” He added that the series aims to inspire larger conversations about enhancing the city.

"Love Your City" is a talk series organized by the city that invites presenters from diverse backgrounds to share their experiences and insights. Attendance is free but limited to the first 200 people.

For further details about this event or LC Launch Small Business Week happening from October 20-26, interested individuals can visit relevant websites for more information. The business week is supported by several partners including Hancock Whitney Bank and McNeese State University.
