The City of Lake Charles is closely monitoring Tropical Storm Francine. In response, all city facilities, including City Hall, Historic City Hall, Central School, and the Public Works Administration Building, will be closed on Tuesday, September 10, and Wednesday, September 11. This closure extends to all city recreation facilities, Mallard Golf Club, and the Lake Charles Event Center.

In preparation for the storm and to aid in debris management, trash and garbage routes will operate as usual on Tuesday, September 10, weather permitting. However, Recycling Centers and the Roving Green Recycling Truck will be closed on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

City Transit services are expected to run normal routes on Tuesday but will be suspended on Wednesday.

The City Council Agenda Meeting scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday has been canceled.

Public safety and other essential personnel will continue their operations as long as conditions remain safe.

City officials request that residents secure their garbage cans after they are emptied and ensure any loose debris or yard items are secured ahead of the storm.

Residents in low-lying or flood-prone areas or mobile homes should take necessary precautions to prepare for Tropical Storm Francine. Those needing assistance can dial 211 for information on available resources.
