The City of Lake Charles is partnering with Visit Lake Charles to launch the #LakeCharlesFamilyFun branding campaign. This initiative aims to provide families with a streamlined way to access information on family-friendly events in the city, following a community survey conducted earlier this year.

“There is so much going on right now for families in this City! Sometimes people just don’t hear about an event until after it happens,” said Mayor Nic Hunter. “For one example, the City’s Partners in Parks initiative is providing fun, free events nearly every weekend. We also know other agencies are providing high-quality, accessible programming. Our goal is to work with Visit Lake Charles, who does a phenomenal job of promoting events in the area, to make it very easy and streamlined for families to experience all there is to do here in this community.”

The campaign will feature a social media post on the first of each month on the Lake Charles City Hall Facebook page and Instagram account, offering an at-a-glance calendar of events for the month. The hashtag #LakeCharlesFamilyFun will be used to follow along with these events.

Additionally, Visit Lake Charles has created a landing page on its website containing blog posts, a calendar of events, and more for families seeking activities throughout Calcasieu Parish. Residents can visit www.visitlakecharles.org/family for a comprehensive list of family-friendly events and attractions.

“Tourism thrives when it’s rooted in the local community,” said Kyle Edmiston, president and CEO of Visit Lake Charles. “By showcasing unique experiences like our family-friendly events, we keep our community informed and strengthen the bond between residents and visitors.”

Residents are also invited to tune into KPLC 7 News Sunrise where Visit Lake Charles provides an overview of upcoming weekend family-friendly events each Thursday morning.
