Lake Charles City Hall will host an opening reception for an exhibition featuring the photography of local citizen Robert Landry on April 10, 2024. The exhibit, titled “Nature and Wildlife,” will be displayed on the first floor of Lake Charles City Hall. Mayor Nic Hunter expressed excitement about the event, stating, "Lake Charles City Hall is a very special building, and we are thrilled to have guests see some beautiful artwork from a local citizen when they enter the doors."

Robert Landry, a Lake Charles native and local attorney, discovered his passion for photography as a high school student. Influenced by his father's travel slideshows, Landry's interest in photography has continued to grow, especially with the advancements in digital photography. He views photography as a calming and immersive experience, stating, “As I've grown older and as life, work and the world have grown more hectic, photographing nature literally forces me to immerse myself in the environment and, most of all, slow down.”

The exhibition will run from April 10, 2024, through June 28, 2024, giving visitors ample time to appreciate Landry's collection. Those unable to attend in person can view his complete photography collection online.

Attendees are encouraged to explore the downtown district after the reception, supporting local businesses for a complete evening out on the town. Stay updated on City of Lake Charles news by visiting their website.
