Water service has been restored for customers of the City of Lake Charles Water Division on Bay Drive, Norben Drive, and LaCache Drive. Approximately 90 customers were notified of a temporary water service interruption necessary to complete an emergency repair to a water main tie-in.

In compliance with Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) regulations, a temporary precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for customers on the aforementioned streets. The advisory is expected to last approximately 24 hours. The City of Lake Charles will rescind the boil advisory upon notification from LDH that water samples collected and submitted for testing have met their water quality and safety requirements.

Affected consumers are advised to disinfect their water before consuming it. This includes making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing foods. Disinfection can be achieved by boiling the water for one full minute in a clean container. The recommended one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. It should be noted that this advisory does not affect showering or bathing.

For further information or inquiries regarding individual water services in this impacted area, individuals can call 337-491-1487.
