WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) has revealed that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will be providing $2,374,819 to Lafayette Regional Airport and $1,041,789 to Lake Charles Regional Airport through the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program. The funding, which was allocated as part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, aims to enhance the local airports and infrastructure in Southwest Louisiana.
In a statement, Congressman Higgins acknowledged his initial opposition to the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. However, he recognized the value of certain proposals in the bill and ultimately supported its passage. He stated, "While I opposed the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in its totality as a matter of principle, some of the proposals in the bill were solid. Ultimately, the bill became law, and the funding was allocated."
