Congressman Clay Higgins has announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will allocate $117,946,000 in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funding to Louisiana. This funding is in response to Hurricane Francine.

The funds are provided through the American Relief Act, which was passed with Congressman Higgins' support on December 20, 2024. HUD will publish rules for the CDBG-DR program in the Federal Register, and Louisiana will develop its action plan accordingly.

"Hurricane Francine impacted many of the communities that were still recovering from Hurricane Ida," said Congressman Higgins. "These long-term recovery dollars through the CDBG-DR program will assist Louisiana in restoring economic stability and advancing mitigation projects. My office will continue working to ensure South Louisiana has the necessary resources to rebuild and recover."
