Lake Charles prepares for second annual Skatember event in September

The City of Lake Charles is preparing for September with the Recreation and Parks Department set to host its second annual Skatember event.

Four themed evenings are scheduled throughout September, each taking place at the Lake Charles Event Center Coliseum, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive. Admission is $5 for skating, and attendees aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Concessions will be available for purchase, and KBYS will broadcast and provide music for each event.

The dates, times, and themes are as follows:

- Sunday, September 8: 4:30-7:30 pm - Family Night – Roller Disco

- Friday, September 13: 5:30-8:30 pm - Family Night – Frightful Friday

- Thursday, September 19: 5:30-8:30 pm - Adult Night (18+) – Welcome to the New Millennium

- Saturday, September 26: 4:30-7:30 pm - Family Night – Glow Party

Skates are not provided; only non-motorized roller and inline skates will be permitted on the floor. Costumes fitting each theme are encouraged.
