City to Observe July 4th Holiday - Garbage, Trash and Recyling Collection Altered

The City of Lake Charles will observe the July 4th Holiday on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. There will be no trash or garbage collected that day.  

Please note the following details regarding City services and the upcoming holiday observance.

Garbage and Trash normally picked up on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

All other routes will remain on their regular schedules.

All Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the incinerator will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. They will resume regular operations on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City Departments, including Lake Charles City Hall, will be closed on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 in observance of this holiday and will resume regular working hours on Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

As a reminder containers and other items for removal shall be placed before the hour of 7 a.m. on collection day or on the evening proceeding collection day. Containers shall be removed no later than 7 pm on the day of collection.

The owner, occupant, tenant, etc., is responsible for collecting any spillage from the container.
