Spring 2022 Commencement Set

McNeese State University will hold two ceremonies Friday, May 13, to confer degrees on the graduates at the university’s 158th commencement in Burton Coliseum.

The ceremony for the Burton College of Education and colleges of  nursing and health professions and science, engineering and mathematics  will be held at 9 a.m. and the ceremony for the colleges of agricultural  sciences, business and liberal arts will be held at 1 p.m.

An honorary doctorate will be awarded at the afternoon ceremony to  Dennis N. Stine, CEO of Stine Lumber Co. – a 76-year-old family owned  business with 12 stores employing 800 associates throughout Louisiana  and Mississippi.

Guests will not be allowed access to the coliseum floor at any time before, during or after the ceremonies.

Graduates will not be allowed access to the guest seating areas at any time before, during or after the ceremonies.

The spring Class of 2022 includes 756 candidates from 33 parishes, 18  states and 30 countries, and 771 degrees will be awarded, including 29  associate degrees, 633 bachelor’s degrees, 108 master’s degrees and one  education specialist degree.

Doors will open one and one-half hours before each ceremony. For the  safety and security of everyone in attendance, no bags larger than  10”x10” will be allowed inside Burton Coliseum and all bags are subject  to search.

The times, college ceremonies and college guest speakers are as follows:

9 a.m. – Burton College of Education, College of Nursing and Health  Professions and College of Science, Engineering and Mathematics, John M.  Miller (‘80), executive vice president – sales and marketing for the  Baton Rouge-based Lamar Advertising Co.

1 p.m. – College of Agricultural Sciences, College of Business and  College of Liberal Arts, Dennis N. Stine, (‘74, ‘92) CEO of Stine Lumber  Co.

The McNeese commencement ceremonies will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/McNeeseStateU for family members and friends unable to attend commencement. The  ceremony will also be broadcast on the Calcasieu Parish Government  Channel at a date to be announced.
