Congressman Clay Higgins, who chairs the Oversight Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement, is initiating an investigation into "swatting" attacks targeting conservative figures. In a formal letter addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Pam Bondi, Higgins calls for a thorough inquiry into those behind these politically motivated incidents.

"The Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement (Subcommittee) is investigating the recent increase in 'swatting' incidents which appear to be targeting individuals based on their political affiliation," stated Chairman Higgins. He further emphasized the need for information from both the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) regarding actions being taken to address these acts of political violence and ensure accountability.

To facilitate this investigation, Chairman Higgins has requested a briefing at the staff level from both the DOJ and FBI by April 9, 2025. This briefing aims to shed light on ongoing efforts to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for politically motivated swatting incidents.
