The City of Lake Charles Engineering Division has announced that a major infrastructure and overlay project is nearing completion. The project, valued at $2.3 million, encompasses improvements such as underground drainage, sanitary sewer and water main work, along with road work including asphalt overlays.

The streets involved in this initiative are N. Malcolm Street (from Conoco Street to Crockett Street), Crockett Street (from Ory Street to Hwy 171), Pack Road (from Old Hwy 171 to Habibi Center), Kinder Street (from Highway 171 east to its dead end), North Grace Street (from Kinder Street to Poe Street), Colfax Street (from Highway 171 east to its dead end), Lynn Street (from Highway 171 east to its dead end), Mary Street (from Highway 171 east to its dead end), and the parking lot at Mary Belle Williams Park. The completion of these works is expected within the next two weeks.

Furthermore, ongoing work on Conoco Street, stretching from Ory Street to Highway 171, includes both underground utility enhancements and an asphalt overlay. This segment is projected for completion by mid-April, contingent on weather conditions.
