Congressman Clay Higgins of Louisiana has announced his committee assignments for the 119th Congress. He will serve on the House Committees on Armed Services, Oversight and Government Reform, and Homeland Security.
“I am honored to join Chairmen Comer, Green, Rogers, and my colleagues once again on these significant committees,” said Congressman Higgins. “We will have seniority and a subcommittee gavel in Oversight to continue important investigations into the weaponization of government. Each of our committee and subcommittee assignments has a deep connection to Louisiana, and I will use my positions to deliver wins for our state, and by extension, all of America.”
Within the Armed Services Committee, Congressman Higgins will participate in the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee. This subcommittee handles Navy and Marine Corps programs related to shipbuilding, conversion, repair as well as Air Force programs concerning bomber, tanker, and airlift aircraft. Additionally, he will be part of the Readiness Subcommittee that supervises military training programs, logistics maintenance, military construction projects, and installations.
In his role on the Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Congressman Higgins is set to chair the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee. This subcommittee oversees homeland security matters including criminal justice issues as well as federal law enforcement regulations related to U.S. border control and immigration policies. Furthermore, he will contribute to the Economic Growth, Energy Policy, and Regulatory Affairs Subcommittee focusing on regulatory affairs along with labor policies affecting economic growth.
On the Homeland Security Committee frontlines are two additional roles: serving within both Cybersecurity Infrastructure Protection alongside Transportation Maritime Security subcommittees respectively overseeing federal networks critical infrastructure along with TSA Coast Guard operations ports maritime security concerns too.
