The City of Lake Charles has introduced the LC Create Challenge, a new social media content contest designed to showcase the city's uniqueness from various perspectives.

Content creators interested in participating can find the contest entry form and complete details online. Contestants are tasked with posting original content that highlights an area or aspect of Lake Charles positively. The entries can be either photographic or video and must be posted on platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or X. To qualify for judging, all submissions must include the hashtag #LCCreate.

All entries must be registered through the provided online form and uploaded by 11:59 pm on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. They must remain on the respective social media accounts until 11:59 pm on Tuesday, October 15.

A panel of judges will review the submissions and select winners. The first-place winner will receive a $500 cash prize. Second and third place winners will get promotional gift baskets from Visit Lake Charles. Additionally, all winners will receive four tickets each to the upcoming Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA Living History Cemetery Tour.

Content submitted may be used by Visit Lake Charles on their social media platforms with proper credit given to the creator.

LC Create is part of LC Launch Small Business Development Week scheduled for October 20-26, 2024. A complete schedule of events is available online.

Contest winners will be announced at a networking event on Monday, October 21, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Historic City Hall (1001 Ryan St.).

LC Launch Small Business Development Week is presented in partnership with America’s Small Business Development Center, SEED Center Business Incubator, Lake Charles Minority Business Chamber of Commerce, McNeese State University, T-Mobile and Acton Children’s Business Fair.
