Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) and Congresswoman Julia Letlow (R-LA) have introduced H.Res. 1210, a resolution designed to commemorate National Police Week and honor America's state and local law enforcement officers. The resolution also criticizes the Biden administration's handling of the border crisis.
The legislators believe that the border crisis has imposed significant burdens on state and local law enforcement personnel. They argue that these officers' unwavering commitment and resilience in dealing with this situation deserve recognition.
"Biden’s failure to enforce immigration laws and secure our border has brought generational trauma upon our nation," said Congressman Higgins. "This resolution pays tribute to our state and local law enforcement officers who have worked hard to respond to increased criminal activity resulting from the border crisis. Their devotion and service to their communities are integral to our national security. I will always stand with my Brothers and Sisters of the Thin Blue Line."
Congresswoman Letlow echoed these sentiments, praising the dedication of law enforcement personnel in protecting the nation's borders. "The brave men and women that make up our law enforcement and border patrol get up each day to defend our nation’s borders with unwavering dedication and courage," she said. "This resolution I’m introducing alongside my colleague, Rep. Higgins, honors our law enforcement officers for their devotion to keeping our communities safe, during a time in our nation when our law enforcement has felt the impact of the lack of border protection as a result of the Biden administration’s border policies. Today and every day we stand with the men and women in uniform and their dedication and courage to protect our communities."
