The City of Lake Charles is gearing up for an exciting second quarter of 2024 with a lineup of engaging Partners in Parks events. These events, as Mayor Nic Hunter highlighted, have been well-received and have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life in the city.

Mayor Nic Hunter expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming events, stating, “Our year is off to a strong start, with incredible programming and great attendance to our Partners in Parks events.” The second quarter calendar is filled with a mix of new and returning events that promise fun for all ages.

Since its launch in July 2018, the Partners in Parks initiative has been successful in raising over $1.6 million for City parks without imposing additional taxes on local citizens. This initiative has been instrumental in improving park infrastructure and expanding programming to offer diverse recreational opportunities to the community.

The schedule of events includes activities such as fishing, sailing, shredding, art exhibitions, cardboard canoe races, golf camps, and more. These events aim to engage citizens of all ages and backgrounds, promoting community involvement and enjoyment of public spaces.

Individuals interested in supporting City parks can contribute online through the Partners in Parks initiative. The City of Lake Charles invites residents to stay updated on event schedules, as all events are subject to change.

As the City of Lake Charles continues to prioritize the development and enhancement of its parks through innovative initiatives like Partners in Parks, residents can look forward to a vibrant and active community space that caters to diverse interests and fosters a sense of unity and enjoyment for all.
