The City of Lake Charles has announced changes to its garbage and trash collection schedule in observance of Good Friday on March 29, 2024. According to the city's statement, there will be no trash or garbage pickup on that day.

Trash and garbage normally collected on Friday will now be rescheduled for pickup on Saturday, March 30, 2024. The Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday routes will continue on their regular schedules.

The city reminds residents to place containers and items for removal before 7 a.m. on the collection day or the evening before. It is also the responsibility of the owner, occupant, or tenant to clean up any spillage from the container.

Furthermore, Lake Charles City Hall and all services of the Department of Public Works will be closed on Good Friday. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, April 1, 2024.
