Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) has voted in favor of passing H.R. 7176, titled the Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act, in an effort to reverse President Biden's indefinite permitting pause on American LNG exports. As a co-sponsor of the legislation, Congressman Higgins believes that this move is crucial for the economic growth and energy security of the United States.

Speaking about the significance of the LNG industry in South Louisiana, Congressman Higgins highlighted the region's role as the epicenter of American LNG production. He pointed out that Calcasieu and Cameron parishes are home to multiple LNG export facilities that not only provide employment opportunities but also contribute to the global supply of clean energy products.

Expressing concerns about the impact of President Biden's policies on energy prices, Congressman Higgins emphasized the need to prioritize domestic energy projects in order to support American families and reduce dependence on foreign adversaries. He stated, "Since Biden took office, our nation has seen high energy prices that are crushing American families and empowering foreign adversaries. America has the potential to lead the world in clean, innovative LNG technologies. However, the Biden administration cannot continue to weaponize the federal government against American energy producers."

Congressman Higgins concluded by affirming his commitment to working at the federal level to enact policies that promote and increase domestic energy production. He believes that by doing so, Louisiana, America, and the entire world can benefit from the advantages of clean and innovative LNG technologies.

The Unlocking our Domestic LNG Potential Act aims to provide a pathway for American LNG exports by reversing the Biden administration's ban on LNG permitting. This legislation is seen as a crucial step in revitalizing the LNG industry and ensuring the United States remains a key player in the global energy market.

In a time where energy security and economic growth go hand in hand, Congressman Higgins' vote to override President Biden's LNG permitting ban is a significant move that has the potential to shape the future of the American LNG industry.
