On Saturday, January 27, 2024, the City of Lake Charles Partners in Parks Initiative will host a Gator Meet-N-Greet from 10 am – noon at the Lakefront Alligator Pond, located just east of Visit Lake Charles (1205 N. Lakeshore Dr.).

This free event, offered in partnership with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, the Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists and Visit Lake Charles, will offer attendees the opportunity to hold baby alligators and learn more about their natural habitat. The community is also encouraged to provide feedback and help the City imagine the future of the Lakefront Alligator Pond, as plans for its redesign are currently underway.

The Gator Meet-N-Greet will take place rain or shine! In the event of inclement weather, it will be moved inside Visit Lake Charles, located at 1205 N. Lakeshore Dr.
