The City of Lake Charles Recreation and Parks Department, in partnership with the Southland Conference, is excited to announce the launch of Next Stars Youth Basketball. This program aims to provide young athletes with an opportunity to participate in a competitive and fun basketball league.

Team registration for the 11/12-year-old youth recreation basketball league will officially open on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. It is important to note that only team registrations will be accepted, and individual registrations will not be allowed. The registration fee for each team is set at $350. To be eligible for the league, players must have been born on or before January 1, 2024.

The Next Stars Youth Basketball league will take place on Saturdays throughout the months of February and March. The league will consist of two divisions: the Elite division, which includes players from all levels, including middle school, and the Evolve division, which is exclusively for middle school players who are not part of any official roster.

Teams interested in participating can register on the 4th floor of Lake Charles City Hall, located at 326 Pujo Street. It is important for teams to bring a copy of each player's birth certificate during the registration process. The deadline for team registration is set for Friday, January 26, 2024.
