Of the 29,997 students attending Calcasieu Parish schools, 53.5% were white. Black students were the second largest ethnicity making up 33.2% of Calcasieu Parish students.

In the previous school year, white was also the most common student ethnicity in Calcasieu Parish, representing 54.9% of the student body.

F. K. White Middle School had the most even distribution of races among the county schools, which included 44.9% Black students, 27.3% white students, 19.4% Hispanic students, 5.3% multiracial students, 2.7% Asian students, 0.2% Hawaiian or Pacific Islander students, and 0.2% American Indian students.
