McNeese Signs Agreement With Sowela for RN to BSN

McNeese State University recently signed an articulation agreement with Sowela Technical Community College. The agreement is for students who have earned an Associate of Science in Nursing at Sowela to transfer to McNeese to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.“McNeese and Sowela share a common interest in providing access to quality higher education in Southwest Louisiana,” McNeese President Dr. Daryl Burckel said. “Working with Sowela to streamline the transfer process between our academic programs is in the best interest of the region and our economy.”After Sowela students earn their Associate of Science in Nursing and obtain their registered nurse licensure, McNeese will grant them 39 credits of advanced placement nursing credits. After these steps are completed, transfer students will need to complete at least 30 additional credits of nursing coursework at McNeese to earn their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The agreement will run for five years.Transfer agreements between McNeese and Sowela are also available in business administration, criminal justice, psychology, arts and general studies.
