McNeese State University’s rodeo team will host its 2022 rodeo Oct. 27-29 in the Burton Arena.
On Thursday, Oct. 27, Rodeo School Day begins with 750 elementary students dropping by the arena at 10 a.m. to watch and learn about the sport of rodeo from McNeese rodeo team members. Then a special Halloween rodeo will be held at 8 p.m. and admission is $5 and
free for children ages 5 and under and McNeese students and faculty with a valid ID.
The competition begins on Friday, Oct. 28, with the slack at noon and performances at 7:30 p.m. and resumes Saturday, Oct. 29, with the slack at 9 a.m. and performances at 5 p.m.
Tickets for the McNeese Rodeo are $10 and admission is free for children ages 5 and under and McNeese students and faculty with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
With more than 300 collegiate athletes representing 13 colleges and universities competing in the Southern Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, the McNeese women’s team currently ranks first in the region and the men’s team is in third place.
