McNeese beach volleyball players Victoria Simmang and Rylee Lansing were named the Southland Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, according to a March 10 announcement from the league. The recognition marks the first time this season that Cowgirls athletes have received the weekly honor.
The award highlights Simmang and Lansing’s performance at last week’s Big Easy Beach Invitational, where they competed as McNeese’s No. 2 pair. The duo achieved a perfect 3-0 record with victories over College of Charleston, Southeastern, and New Orleans. Each win was secured in straight sets.
Their success contributed to McNeese finishing with a 3-1 overall record during the tournament. The consistent performance by Simmang and Lansing played a key role in helping their team achieve these results.
