McNeese football scrimmage and Cowboy Relays scheduled for Saturday events

McNeese announced on March 13 that its football team will hold its first spring scrimmage this Saturday at Cowboy Stadium, with warm-ups beginning at 10 a.m. and the scrimmage starting around 10:30 a.m. The event is open to the public.

The announcement also highlighted that McNeese track and field will host the annual Cowboy Relays on Saturday at the Bill and Lena Henning Track Complex, with free admission for attendees.

The men’s hammer throw will start the day’s events at 9 a.m., followed by running events beginning at noon. Several teams are set to join McNeese for the relays, including ULL, ULM, LeTourneau, St. Thomas, Southwestern Christian College, Air Force WCAP, Shreveport Speed Track Club, Texas Throwers, and U.S. Express.

In addition to current competitors, several McNeese alumni are expected to participate in the relays. Notable alumni include All-American javelin thrower Donavon Banks and sprinter Charles Jackson.
