McNeese State University has announced the addition of Nick Ziegelmann as an assistant coach for the Cowgirls volleyball team. The appointment was made by Tayler Gray, who is in her first year as head coach.
“When building this staff, I knew I wanted to surround myself with individuals whose talents and strengths complemented my own,” said Gray. “I was intentional about finding someone analytical who matches my work ethic and commitment to excellence. I truly believe Nick embodies those qualities, and I’m thrilled to begin this journey alongside him.”
Ziegelmann joins McNeese after serving one season at the University of New Mexico as volleyball operations and technical coordinator. Before that, he worked in the private sector, most recently holding the position of Vice President of Business Development at ICON International.
His experience in collegiate volleyball began at Washington State University in 2017, where he spent two years as a team manager and social media strategist. Ziegelmann graduated from Washington State University in 2019 with a degree in Economic Sciences and minors in Business Administration and Sport Management.
In addition to his coaching background, Ziegelmann has authored two books: “The Disappearing Diamonds” (2022) and “The Tesoro Treasure” (2017).
