McNeese softball will host UL-Lafayette on April 21 in its final home game of the regular season, with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m. at Cowgirl Diamond in Lake Charles. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.

This matchup is the second meeting between the teams this season. In their previous contest, the Ragin’ Cajuns defeated McNeese 5-2 in Lafayette on March 24. Historically, UL-Lafayette has had an edge over McNeese, winning seven of their last eight encounters.

The Cowgirls come into Tuesday’s game with a four-game winning streak after sweeping Stephen F. Austin at home during the weekend. Meanwhile, UL-Lafayette arrives with momentum as well, riding a three-game win streak following a Sun Belt sweep over Coastal Carolina.

Offensively, McNeese boasts depth with twelve players batting above .300 this season. Kassidy Chance leads the team with a .404 average and has recorded 44 hits and 25 runs batted in (RBI). Maddie Taylor holds a .304 average and tops the team charts with nine homeruns and forty RBI; she also leads all pitchers for McNeese with twelve wins and a record of 12-4 along with fifty-four strikeouts across ninety innings pitched. Brookelyn Taylor contributes as well from the mound, posting ten wins and seventy-four strikeouts so far.
