The McNeese women’s tennis team will return home on March 20 to face Northwestern State in a Southland Conference match scheduled for 1 p.m. This marks the Cowgirls’ first home appearance since February 7. The team is also set to host Stephen F. Austin on Monday, March 23, with that match beginning at 11 a.m.

The upcoming matches are significant as the Cowgirls currently hold a strong record of 12-1 overall and are undefeated in conference play at 2-0. They are riding a seven-match winning streak, most recently securing a 5-2 victory over Incarnate Word on March 2. In the Southland Conference standings, McNeese sits just behind Northwestern State, which enters the contest with an overall record of 8-4 and an unblemished conference mark of 4-0.

Ana Hollweg leads the Cowgirls in singles play with a record of 12-1, while Elena Morales follows closely at 11-1. In doubles competition, Hollweg teams up with Naomi Hagi for a season record of 10-2.

For Northwestern State, Martina Acebedo has posted a leading singles record of 9-1 and pairs with Athina Grigoriadou for a doubles mark of 6-2.

The results of these matches could impact the standings within the Southland Conference as both teams look to continue their successful seasons.
