The public is invited to attend the swearing-in ceremony of Mayor-elect Marshall J. Simien, Jr., and the Lake Charles City Council on Monday, June 30, 2025. The event will be held at the Sudduth Coliseum inside the Lake Charles Event Center, located at 900 Lakeshore Drive, starting at 6:30 pm.

City Council members who will take their oaths include Ronnie Harvey, Jr., Donald Fondel, Tommy Bilbo, Matt Young, Stuart Weatherford, Craig Marks, and Matthew Vezinot. The term for Mayor-elect Simien and all seven council members will commence on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Doors will open at 5:30 pm. The Lake Charles Event Center’s Security Screening and Clear Bag Policies will be enforced. According to the policy, bags must not exceed dimensions of 12x12x6 inches and must be transparent. Small bags smaller than 5×7 inches are exempt from this requirement. Seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis; attendees are encouraged to arrive early.
