Lake Charles prepares for mayoral and city council swearing-in ceremony

The upcoming “swearing-in” ceremony for the Mayor-elect of Lake Charles, Marshall J. Simien, Jr., along with the newly-elected City Council members, is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025. The event will be held at Sudduth Coliseum within the Lake Charles Event Center located at 900 Lakeshore Drive and will commence at 6:30 pm.

The incoming City Council members set to take office are Ronnie Harvey, Jr., Donald Fondel, Tommy Bilbo, Matthew “Matt” Young, Stuart Weatherford, Craig Marks, and Matthew Vezinot.

The term of office for both Mayor-elect Simien and all seven City Council members is slated to begin on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.
