The City of Lake Charles Community Services Department will begin accepting registrations for its Epic Adventure Summer Camp program on March 24, according to a recent announcement. Registration for the 2026 sessions will be available online only and will remain open through May 2.
The camp is designed for children ages 5 to 10, with limited space at each site. The cost is $350 for the eight-week session, which includes two t-shirts as well as daily breakfast and lunch. The camp will run from June 1 through July 24, operating from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on June 19 and July 3 when city holidays are observed.
Each week features a different theme such as To Infinity and Beyond, Rising Stars, Wild about Wildlife, Cleared for Takeoff, Party in the USA, H2Woah!, Lights, Camera, Action and The Great STEM-pede. Locations include Bellard Community Center, College Oaks Community Center, Henry Heights Community Center and Donald Ray Stevens Community Center. This year introduces mandatory camp t-shirts Monday through Friday; additional shirts can be purchased during registration for $10 each.
Swim days are included at no extra charge thanks to support from Phillips 66. These optional activities aim to promote water safety and pool navigation skills among campers. Transportation is provided by Calcasieu Parish School bus drivers.
A parent meeting is scheduled between May 18-21 to provide further information after registration is complete. For more details or questions about the program, residents can call (337) 491-1280 or email parks@cityoflc.us.
