The City of Lake Charles has announced changes to its trash and garbage collection schedule in observance of Veterans Day on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. There will be no trash or garbage pickup on that day.

According to the city, collections normally scheduled for Tuesday will instead take place on Wednesday, November 12. Thursday and Friday routes will continue as usual.

Recycling stations, including the Team Green recycling truck and the Incinerator, will also be closed on November 11. These facilities are set to resume regular operations on Wednesday.

All other services provided by the Department of Public Works and other city departments, including Lake Charles City Hall, will be closed for the holiday. Regular hours will resume on November 12.

The Lake Charles City Council Agenda Meeting originally planned for Tuesday has been rescheduled to Wednesday at 5:30 p.m.

Residents are reminded that containers and items for removal should be placed before 7 a.m. on collection day or the evening before. Containers must be removed no later than 7 p.m. on the day of collection. The responsibility for collecting any spillage from containers falls to the owner, occupant, or tenant.
