The Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office announced on Mar. 17 the recipients of departmental challenge coins, recognizing individuals for outstanding service, lifesaving actions, technical excellence, and dedication to the community.

The awards highlight the importance of quick response and commitment among law enforcement personnel and staff in serving both inmates and residents of Jefferson Davis Parish.

Deputy Brevan Fields was recognized for his actions on June 1, 2025, when he responded to a medical emergency involving an unresponsive inmate at the parish jail. Fields began lifesaving measures that restored the inmate’s breathing and pulse before medical personnel arrived. The Sheriff’s Office said his quick response prevented a potentially tragic outcome.

On November 23, 2025, Deputies Labrishca Bouley and Jude Fruge, along with Sergeant Tanner Richert, were honored for their coordinated efforts during another medical emergency at the jail. They performed lifesaving measures that revived an unresponsive inmate until emergency services arrived.

Deputy Connie Sarvis received recognition for her work in community outreach programs. She collaborated with organizations such as Council on Aging and Catholic Charities to support local initiatives. During a winter storm in January 2026, Sarvis provided clothing and meals at a cold weather shelter and prepared breakfast for those seeking refuge as well as volunteers.

Logan Levy was acknowledged for exceptional technical service within the agency. Levy developed systems to improve computer setup efficiency, deployed cybersecurity measures, built a digital evidence repository supporting narcotics investigations, led major software rollouts, and maintained over 300 endpoints while managing more than 1,100 support tickets annually.

The Sheriff’s Office commended all recipients for their dedication and extended gratitude for their continued service.
