Goosport Park in Lake Charles will host a Halloween event on Friday, October 31, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The City of Lake Charles Department of Community Services is organizing the event through its Partners in Parks initiative. The main attraction is the first Ghostport Haunted House, which features a cardboard maze and festive decorations.

According to organizers, more than 300 people attended the opening weekend of the haunted house. Goosport Park and the Donald Ray Stevens Community Center will also serve as stops along the Goosport Trunk or Treat Trail.

“Families are encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes and come ready to laugh and make lasting Halloween memories. The Ghostport Haunted House promises all the thrills of spooky season, minus the real chills! This family-friendly event welcomes little ghosts and goblins of all ages and will include an inclusive space designed for guests with mobility, sensory or other unique needs, along with features that ensure fun for our senior community as well,” stated event organizers.

The event is free for families, with cold refreshments provided by Lake Charles Coca-Cola. For more information about this event or future activities at Goosport Park, residents can call 337-491-1280 or email parks@cityoflc.us.
