On Saturday, April 12, former Alfred M. Barbe High School standout Donny Sandifer’s current college team, the Southern Jaguars, won 23-19 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Alcorn State Braves.
The game took place at Lee-Hines Stadium. This was their second matchup against the Braves this season.
The Jaguars’ next game is scheduled for Sunday, April 13 at 1 p.m. at Lee-Hines Stadium against Alcorn State Braves.

Goosport Park in Lake Charles will host a Halloween event on Friday, October 31, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The City of Lake Charles Department of Community Services is organizing the event through its Partners in Parks initiative.
